Spent Grain Dog Biscuits
This was my first venture into using spent grain for baking. In addition to being nutritious with lots of fiber, dogs love the flavor.
Ingredients:
4 cups spent grain
2 cups plain flour
1 cup chunky peanut butter
1 egg.
¼ cup of vegetable oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all ingredients together well. If it seems very sticky add more flour. Press dough on parchment paper or wax paper about ¼ inch thick. You may need to do about ½ at a time. Cut with knife or cookie cutter to desired shapes. Place treats on cookie pan lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and dry in a food dehydrator for 6 to 8 hours until crisp and hard. I usually dry them over night. They will keep indefinably without refrigeration.
